Even the most stringent drug testing programs are threatened by adulterants. These are substances (either added to the urine specimen or ingested) that are promoted as "cleansing agents" to prevent the detection of drug use.
Quest Diagnostics has developed a testing protocol that forensically identifies adulteration of the urine specimen. Our TestSure state-of-the-art tests are designed to detect specimen tampering or substitution and provide employers with the best information from which to make informed personnel decisions.
TestSure detects a variety of "oxidizing" adulterants including these compounds:
Nitrite > 500 µg/mL
Pyridinchlorochromate
Creatinine < 20 mg/dL
Acids, Bases
pH (<) or (>11)
Bleach
Specific Gravity where indicated
Glutaraldehyde
Alternate Screening where indicated
Chromates
